Six years ago...

...I started this blog, concerned about what I thought then was an appalling slide into nonfitness. Unfitness? Afitness? Eh.

Six years and 40 MORE pounds later give or take, I'm gonna see if I can convince, trick, incentivize, or otherwise get myself back to a healthier lifestyle. I need it for wardrobe reasons, I need it for acute and chronic health reasons, and I need it for mental and emotional reasons.

As I said in my post opening this blog, I have a walking desk - though not sure it's rated for my current weight. It has a lot of miles on it; hoping to put a lot more on it in 2019. I also have jump ropes, a weight bench and some dumbbells, a single kettlebell, my legs when they work, and a rec center 2.2 miles away. So there's really no excuse.

I'm also hoping to implement some dietary changes. The immediate one centers around ketosis. I generally don't eat a lot of sugary things, but there's enough added sugar in the world that I want to rediscover how to avoid it.

Beverage-wise, I'm at about a single energy drink a week. I drink coffee with milk or cream, but no sugar. The biggest issue is alcohol - not just how much, but what. I love high-ABV beers and with Colorado law changing tomorrow to allow it in grocery stores, that's gonna be a tough one. At the very least I need to redouble the amount of water I drink.

I went back & forth about the idea of the dreaded "before" picture and so far I've decided to spare anyone who reads this the need for eye bleach. But I will post my weight first thing in the morning, every morning I have access to a scale, and I will post whatever actual exercise I do as I do it.
